Meet the teacher - Emily

Emily Perry - Yoga Teacher

Signature move in a class? The little head massages at the end with my sleepy head balm!

Hi, I’m Emily—a yoga teacher with a background in Health Psychology, and a real passion for helping people feel more at ease in their bodies and minds. I specialise in stress management and emotional wellbeing, drawing on my experience working in the NHS and mental health charities. My approach to yoga is gentle, grounded, and person-centred—focusing on mindful movement, somatic practices, breath work, and guided rest to support both physical mobility and nervous system health.

I first came to yoga looking for some relief during a really difficult time in my life. At first, it was just about moving and feeling better physically—but over time, the practice became something much deeper. It helped me reconnect with myself, find my voice again, and feel a bit more like me. I never planned to teach, but after doing my 200-hour training (mainly out of curiosity!), I fell in love with sharing the practice and haven’t looked back since.

My interest in stress runs deep—it’s something I’ve seen affect people I love, especially my Dad, who became seriously unwell from years of pushing through without listening to his body. Later, when I started to notice similar patterns in myself, I realised something had to change. That experience lit a fire in me, and now I’m passionate about helping others learn how to listen to the quieter signals their bodies send—before they turn into loud alarms.

In my classes, there’s no pressure to push or perform. I believe in moving in ways that feel supportive, not punishing. It’s all about tuning in, moving mindfully, and creating space for rest and reflection. Whether you’re joining a weekly class, retreat, or workshop, my hope is that you’ll leave feeling more connected, more grounded, and a little more like yourself.

To me, yoga isn’t about perfect poses—it’s about building a kind, curious, and compassionate relationship with your body and mind.
